Questions

What is an accredited investor?

It’s a person or entity the SEC treats as able to take on the risk of a private investment. The usual ways to qualify for a person are income over $200,000 (or $300,000 with a spouse or spousal equivalent) in each of the last two years, a net worth over $1 million not counting your home, or holding a Series 7, 65 or 82 license in good standing. Some entities qualify too.

Do I need to be accredited to invest on DoorRaise?

Yes. Deals on DoorRaise are open to accredited investors only, and every investor is verified before any money moves. You prove it once and it carries over to future deals.

How does DoorRaise check?

You choose how: a short letter from your CPA, attorney or financial adviser, a check of your Series 7, 65 or 82 license, your tax forms, or your asset statements and a credit report. Investing $200,000 or more is another route. This page shows which ones fit your answers.

Is this check legal advice?

No. It’s a plain-language guide to the common categories, and the rules have more detail than a short list can hold. Your CPA, attorney or financial adviser can tell you for sure.

Does the check save my answers?

No. Your answers stay in your browser. We only count how many people see each kind of result, with no names and no answers.

What if none of these fit me?

Then you may not be able to invest in deals on DoorRaise right now. Your situation can change, and there are categories this short list leaves out, so it’s worth asking your adviser if you’re close or unsure.

A general guide, not legal, tax or investment advice. DoorRaise doesn’t decide who is accredited from this page; it verifies each investor before any investment. Investing involves risk, including loss of the entire investment.

Invest with your eyes open

Every deal page shows the fees, the sponsor’s track record and what we checked. Your money stays in escrow until closing.
